Shapovalov did it again...

 Denis Shapovalov from  Canada beat American Taylor Fritz 7-5, 6-4 on Friday at the Delray Beach Open to earn his second semifinal berth of his career.
The 18-year-old Shapovalov onlye lost  five points on his first serve and was never broken. Its not yet decided whoi will be Shapovalovs opponent at saturdays matchbecause the late match Friday between No. 8-seeded Chung Hyeon of South Korea and American wild-card Frances Tiafoe was suspended because of rain. That match will be played on Saturday.
The second semifinal will match American Steve Johnson against Peter Gojowczyk of Germany. Johnson advanced by beating Evgeny Donsoy of Russia 6-1, 6-4, and Gojowczyk defeated American Reilly Opelka with the score 7-6 (5), 6-3.

DAVIS CUP Update: France And Australia Win Doubles leads by 2-1



France And Australia Win Doubles leads by 2-1

 

Nicolas Mahut and Pierre-Hugues Herbert staked France to a 2-1 lead in the Davis Cup semifinal facing Serbia.   Apart from some setbacks in the third set when the Serb pair won four games in a row, the frenchmen Mahut and Herbert were in control on the indoor clay court. 

John Peers and Jordan Thompson of Australia won against Arthur de Greef and Ruben Bemelmans of Belgium and the score was; 6-3, 6-4, 6-0.

Denis Shaparov defeats Rafael Nadal












Canada's Denis Shapovalov did his part in ushering out the old guard by beating No. 2 Rafael Nadal. If this was a one time event or if it is a glimpse of the future,well to find out we simply have to wait and see... Shapovalov says that " my dream came true today".
Denis Shapovalov, striving to crack the world's top 100, shocked top-seeded Rafael Nadal in the third round of the Rogers Cup on Thursday. The score was; 6-3, 4-6, 6(4)-7.

John Isner and Ryan Harrison advancing to Atlanta open final.




Ryan Harrison is now hoping to win his second titel for this year.

Harrison beat  Kyle Edmund from England 6-7 (5), 6-3, 6-4. Harrison won his first title ever in the Memphis Open in February . Edmund beat Jack Sock this Friday night.


Second-seeded John Isner defeated  Gilles Muller of Luxembourg 6-4, 6-2 on Saturday to reach the BB&T Atlanta Open final for the fifth straight year.

Isner won the Hall of Fame Open last week in Newport, Rhode Island as well.
